The New Zealand Vintage Machinery Club (Inc) Canterbury was formed in March 1998 as a family club to foster the knowledge and interest in vintage machinery, associated memorabilia (rural and household equipment) and models, and to promote the restoration and retention of vintage machinery, associated memorabilia and historical literature in New Zealand.

Since 2003, the Club has leased a 14ha block at McLeans Island Christchurch.  Known as Keating Park it is named after the Club Patrons, Pat and Joan Keating.  The grounds were cleared, levelled and planted by members.  Building work began to develop this bare block into Club headquarters. In 2006 the Club relocated its Club rooms to Keating Park.

The Club is very active with displays at shows and rallies throughout Canterbury. We also run ploughing matches with an emphasis on training and instruction.  The Club has organised several major vintage rallies over its 10 year existence.  Workshop evenings, craft nights and social events are often held and every effort is made to cater for the interests of all the family.

Something of interest for all the family is the theme behind the upcoming McLeans Island Vintage Country Fair which is being held in conjunction with the Vintage Car Club Canterbury Branch and the Canterbury Steam Preservation Society.
